Investing in Quality
Only by investing quality in every stage of every process, product and service, whether manufacturing, contract packing, private label or logistics, can we guarantee that we deliver it for our customers and partners.
We’ve developed a system of quality controls that operate at company, team and individual level, providing quality goals within the framework of an internationally recognised quality management system.
These are driven by a multi-disciplinary team of professional technical specialists with knowledge of quality management systems, product, process and packaging technology and legal compliance, plus analytical techniques and methods.
Quality in Supply
We only work with suppliers who operate to internationally recognised quality standards that include ISO Quality Standards 9001, 14000 and 22000, British Retail Consortium (BRC) standards, and to the IFS International Food Standard.
We also encourage them to join the Sure-Global-Fair (SGF) IRMA scheme which is frequently audited.
Our authenticity testing programme ensures that all our raw materials comply with the European Fruit Juice Regulation and the various AIJN (European Fruit Juice Association) codes of practice. And we run an in-house supplier audit programme during harvesting seasons, as well as performing regular supplier performance reviews.
When these criteria have been met, our experienced laboratory technicians assess samples of raw material to deliver the quality our customers demand, while our specialists attend seminars to stay abreast of legislation, quality and authenticity issues.
Refresco are proud to play an active role in key European and international associations that include EQCS (European Quality Control Systems), IFU (International Fruit Union and AIJN (European Fruit Juice Association).
Quality in Product Development
We love product development. It’s an exciting and innovative area for us and we’re delighted to have already created a number of industry product and packaging firsts.
Our team of technologists and technicians are experts in fruit, flavour and formulations, blending different varieties into great tasting products...which are then developed in our state of the art product development centre, built specifically to provide the right environment for innovation and creative blending.
We’re also now equipped with a new pilot plant process room, where we can mimic plant process conditions. Our flexible approach extends to the ability to vary process parameters, incorporate homogenisation and chilled or ambient filling. And we have space and support facilities to develop new and innovative processes.
Staying up to date with changing consumer tastes is critical to refining and evolving our products. We train our people and process teams with in-house sensory knowledge and insight that is validated by expert authorities, and we support the product development process with ‘Sensory Roadshows’.
